About: This is an absolute North-Indian delicacy. Actually, this dish is served as a snack and enhance the flavor of the dish it is served with spicy white peas curry (ragra) or chickpea curry (chole) topped with onion, sweet red chutney and spicy green chutney. But you can also enjoy the Aloo Tikki as a snack without any of these. This is a very easy and quick recipe. When you have nothing to serve to your guests then this dish can help you. I had this first time in one of my friends houses. We 3-4 friends gone to her house for surprised her then aunty (her mother) quickly made this for us. I didn't know how she had made, but this is my version of Aloo Tikki. This is also a pure veg recipe.



Prep Time: 15-20 mins,       Cooking time: 15 mins,        servings: 2-3


Ingredients:

  1. Potato medium size 3-4 (boiled and smashed )
  2. Green chili 2-3 chopped
  3. Coriander leaves handful (chopped)
  4. Bread crumbs 2-3 tab spoon
  5. Corn flour 1 tab spoon
  6. Turmeric 1/2 teaspoon
  7. Cumin powder 1 teaspoon
  8. Chat masala 1 teaspoon
  9. Amchur powder 1/2 teaspoon
  10. Anar dana 1/2 teaspoon crushed
  11. Salt to taste
  12. Oil for frying

For Serving:

  1. Tomato sauce
  2. Meyonese eggless

Cooking Process:

Step1.  Boiled the potato with a pinch of salt. After that peel off the skin and smashed properly, then keep aside.
Step2. In a separate bowl, add the smashed potatoes and then add the rest of the ingredients one by one that is green chilies, coriander, bread crumbs, cornflower, turmeric, cumin powder, chat masala, amchur powder, anardana and salt. Then mix it well.
Step3. After that, take some oil in your palm and grease it well then takes small portions of the mixture and make Tikkis. You can shape it as you want.
Step4. Take a wok and put oil in it. When the oil becomes hot then add the tikkis into the oil and fry until it becomes golden brown. Then hot and crispy Aloo Tikki is ready to serve. You can serve it with tomato sauce and mayonese (Eggless) or serve it also with some pudina chutney and sweet tamarind chutney and enjoy.
